If you worry about the choices of major....-Book Introduction-

I think many students in ICU are worried about the major choices. If you are so, I introduce a series of books. The book series are Oxford's "very short introductions" series. There have already been 284 titles in the series. Most books in the series are between 100–180 pages and written by very easy English, so you can read the subjects or topics related to your major choices very quickly. All books of this series contain many suggestions for further reading and learning. This series of books' authors are specialists of the fields, so you can touch the "leading edge" very easily. Authors often write about a lot of their own personal views in the books, but the books remain balanced and complete. I read 2 books of this series: "Political philosophy" and "Philosophy of science", thanks to the introduction from Mr. Oshima, who is my 4th important person in my week 3 fixed topic's blog. Thanks to the books, I could catch the frameworks and problems(questions) of the fields. These books may be a reason of my major choice; I want to major in politics, especially political theory and political thought, and also study about the philosophy of science. Now, a lot of this series' books are translated from English into Japanese by Iwanami-syoten, so you can read them more easily!!
